Briggs & Stratton XR2100 A flail mower is a variant of a rotary mower, in which the cutting elements are flails that shred the mowed plants. This mowing system was used in the flail forage harvester (often colloquially known as Orkan or rotor). The system in which the flails are a sharpened rotating mass on the cutting shaft works well in mowing wastelands and roadsides. The rotation of the machine is often higher than 3000 rpm.
